The Deadly Blight

A master of toxins and creeping death, the Scourge weakens enemies with relentless poisons that sap their strength and will. Once the venom takes hold, he strikes with devastating force, ensuring his victim succumbs to an inevitable, painful end.

Where other assassins rely on quick kills, the Scourge plays a longer, more insidious game. They specialize in stacking debilitating poisons that eat away at their victims while simultaneously providing healing support to allies through their mastery of antivenoms. The Venom Shock skill turns accumulated poison stacks into explosive damage, rewarding patient poison application with devastating payoffs. Their Plague Doctor passive makes them surprisingly effective healers, blending offense and support in unexpected ways.

Unlock

Scourge is a tier 3 class that is unlocked by leveling the Rogue class to level 40. As all T3 classes, it retains all of the previous T2 and T1 classes' skills.

Pros and Cons

Comparisons are made considering classes from the same tier

The Scourge brings a unique blend of poison damage, debuffs, and party support. King Cobra's Fang can apply up to 4 poison stacks per hit, while Scorpion Sting Needles spreads poison across entire enemy lines. Once enemies are sufficiently poisoned, Venom Shock consumes all stacks for massive burst damage.

Their support capabilities are impressive: Antivenom Wave provides AoE healing and poison cleansing, Expose Weakness buffs the party's Hit and S.Atk, and Plague Doctor passively enhances both S.Atk and DEXHealing.

  • Strengths:
    • Exceptional damage over time through poison stacking
    • Massive burst potential with Venom Shock
    • Strong party support with healing and buffs
    • Excellent debuff application with high S.Atk
    • Toxic Retaliation punishes melee attackers
  • Weaknesses:
    • Poison damage requires time to accumulate
    • Less effective against lower HP enemies, as poison damage is MaxHP percentage
    • Venom Shock consumes all poison stacks and needs P.Atk to be effective
    • Not so tanky if enemies can land hits

Stats

Scourges thrive on DEX for S.Atk and DEXHealing, with AGI for evasion and speed. STR provides base damage for their attacks.

DEX is their main stat - it powers both poison application through S.Atk and healing through DEXHealing. AGI keeps them alive through evasion and enables more attacks. STR ensures some upfront damage on the skills and basic attacks.

VIT provides backup survivability when evasion fails. WIS contributes to healing and MP regeneration.

Class Bonuses

The Levels in which one receives a certain bonus

DEX 1 7 15 22 28 34 39 46 50
WIS 9 21 30 36 43
  • For a balanced build:
Maximize DEX for S.Atk to ensure poisons land consistently. Add STR for extra damage and AGI for more basic attacks when conserving MP. Add VIT to the mix if too many hits are landing.
  • For a support-oriented build:
Heavy DEX investment for both S.Atk and DEXHealing. Plague Doctor amplifies both, making you an effective off-healer while still applying debuffs.
  • For a burst damage build:
Balance STR and DEX, focus on quickly stacking poison then detonating with Venom Shock.

Gear

Recommended gear for Scourges

  • Armor
    • Medium Armor: Best balance of Evasion, Speed, and defense
    • Light Armor: MP regeneration if skill usage is high
    • Heavy Armor: Avoid - hampers the evasion that keeps Scourges alive
  • Accessories
    • S.Atk accessories ensure poison and debuffs land
    • DEX and AGI accessories complement the agile playstyle
    • DEXHealing accessories if focusing on support

Scripts

Default

The default script balances poison application and support:

  1. Uses healing items when HP is critically low
  2. Uses Antivenom Wave when team HP is low
  3. Uses Antivenom Wave on heavily poisoned allies
  4. Uses Venom Shock when enemies have 7+ poison stacks
  5. Uses Scorpion Sting Needles against multiple enemies
  6. Activates Expose Weakness when no buff is active
  7. Activates Toxic Retaliation when no buff is active
  8. Uses King Cobra's Fang on bosses
  9. Uses King Cobra's Fang on elites
  10. Uses King Cobra's Fang as primary attack
  11. Falls back to basic attacks

Ideas and Suggestions

These are all suggestions, you can't have 1 script which is perfect for every hunt, gear or playstyle

  • Stack poison with King Cobra's Fang before using Venom Shock for maximum burst
  • Scorpion Sting Needles is excellent for spreading poison across enemy lines
  • Keep Expose Weakness active for party-wide Hit and S.Atk bonuses
  • Toxic Retaliation punishes melee attackers with free King Cobra's Fang counters
  • Antivenom Wave provides solid AoE healing - don't neglect your support role
  • Against high HP enemies, and if you didn't build too much P.Atk, let poison stacks do the MaxHP percentage damage, don't detonate with Venom Shock
